The ABT is the elected alumni voice for the active chapter — advising on operations, scholarship, recruitment, and the values that make Delta Chi what it is. Homecoming 2026 elections are October 24.
Officer terms are one year. General members serve two-year staggered terms. All positions up for election at Homecoming, October 24, 2026. The "BB", chapter "A", and chapter "D" are ex-officio voting members.
ABT elections are held at Homecoming each year. Any alumnus willing to support the chapter and abide by Delta Chi Law is eligible to run. Alumni are notified at least 30 days before elections.
Kirksville, MO · All alumni welcome to attend and participate
At the Homecoming meeting the existing ABT first sets its membership size by vote, then elects general members, then elects officers. Officer elections use a "trickle-down" approach — President first, then VP, and so on. Non-winning nominees for one position can roll into the next.
Any person willing to abide by Delta Chi Law and act toward the ends of the ABT is eligible for election. No dues requirement, no donor requirement. Alumni of any pledge year are welcome.
Mid-term vacancies are filled by presidential appointment, confirmed by a 2/3 majority vote of the ABT.

The ABT serves as the bridge between the alumni community and the active chapter — providing financial oversight, guidance, accountability, and support across all areas of chapter operations.
The ABT holds supervisory power over all chapter finances — planning, supervision, and control of expenditures. The Financial Advisor reviews the chapter "D"'s books regularly, assists with budget preparation, ensures bills are paid, and reports on financial standing at every ABT meeting. The ABT must approve the chapter's elected "D" before he takes office.
The Scholarship Advisor ensures the chapter GPA meets Delta Chi and university standards, stays in contact with the chapter's scholarship chair throughout the semester, and reports on academic performance at every ABT meeting. The scholarship fund — supported by mom's weekend fundraisers and alumni gifts — currently awards approximately $1,700 per semester.
The Risk Management Advisor works directly with the chapter "F" to ensure all Delta Chi policies, campus guidelines, and local, state, and federal laws are followed. He develops educational programs on risk prevention, emergency procedures, and crisis management, and provides a formal report to the ABT at every meeting.
The Recruitment & Education Advisor attends rush events, helps develop relationships with prospective members, and advises on the associate member education program — all while ensuring recruitment and initiation processes comply with Delta Chi Law, Truman guidelines, and applicable law.
The ABT meets at least twice per academic semester and once during the summer. Meetings are held in Kirksville unless otherwise specified, and may be held via Zoom. Next meeting: June 14, 2026 at 11:00 AM via Zoom.
The ABT operates under its own by-laws, most recently updated February 23, 2025, with an amendment adopted April 18, 2026 clarifying voting rights of the chapter "A" and "D." The Vice President reviews the by-laws annually and presents recommendations at Alumni Reunion weekend.
